It stands an amazing 3.18m tall and as such is awaiting accreditation from the Guinness Book of World Records as being “The World’s Largest Garden Spade”. All we need now is to find a 7m tall gardener to demonstrate it!

A very special edition of the Giant Spade has been signed by a number of leading celebrity gardeners and presenters, and will be used to raise funds for the Greenfingers Appeal, the Horticultural Charity that supports children’s hospices. The spade is to be auctioned on the charity Ebay website. Further details will be posted on the Greenfingers Appeal website.

Last season Joseph Bentley launched the Gardener’s Apprentice range of garden tools designed for children. Unlike the more readily available “toys”, this range is manufactured to the same designs as the Joseph Bentley Traditional Range of adult garden tools.

The reaction from the customers was truly amazing. It became apparent that these fully featured tools were not only the smallest available in the UK but they also made people smile! To celebrate this and generate a little bit more fun we decided to create the World’s Largest Garden Spade!
